A service golden retriever dog jumped in front of a mini school bus to protect his blind owner. Authorities said that the dog named Figo stayed by his owner Audrey Stone's side as emergency responders tended to the injured pair, Fox News has reported.

The bus driver said that he didn't see the pair crossing the road. But, he was given a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian. The two kindergarteners on the bus weren't injured. The 62-year-old suffered a broken ankle, elbow and ribs and a head wound and was still hospitalised in Danbury, Connecticut, while Figo underwent surgery and has a leg splint.
