ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi 'seriously injured in air strike': Report

Baghdadi has also not been able to oversee the terrorist organisation for quite sometime due to his injuries.

Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been gravely wounded in an US-led air strike in Western Iraq, according to reports. 

According to Guardian reports, the ISIS chief was inflicted with life-threatening injuries during a US airstrike in March, although he has made gradual recovery over the period, he is still seriously injured.

Baghdadi has also not been able to oversee the terrorist organisation for quite sometime due to his injuries. The reports also state that the top ISIS leaders held urgent meetings to name a new leader fearing the death of Baghdadi. 

Baghdadi was also reported as being seriously wounded last year in November. Although, the reports were not confirmed. ISIS chief's deputy, Abu Muslim al-Turkmani, and the head of the group’s military operations were however killed in the air-strikes in Iraq last December. 

The United States has imposed a bounty of $10 million on the ISIS chief Abu al-Baghdadi's head. ISIS is a self proclaimed caliphate which controls large swathes of Iran and Syria.
