Television chef Gordon Ramsay has apparently been sued for £1 million after pulling out of a speaking tour.

The promoter of the New Zealand trip said Ramsay had given only a week's notice, reports the Sun.

An email from the star's then manager Christopher Hutcheson said Ramsay's mother had suffered a minor heart attack.

The speaking engagements were due on June 22 and 23.

Promoters Duco Ltd say Ramsay's mother was discharged from hospital on June 14 and there was "no evidence she had suffered a heart attack".

The tour was rescheduled for October - but Ramsay cancelled again, it was claimed.
