Winter is here as Game of Thrones is set for the global premiere of its seventh season on July 16. The final pieces of the show are quickly moving into place. Jon Snow rules in the North, Cersei Lannister holds King's Landing, and Daenerys Targaryen will soon hit the coast of Westeros at Dragonstone, backed by Greyjoy armada and her three dragons, to claim the Iron Throne. Meanwhile, the Night King's army of the White Walkers and wights is quickly descending to plunge the world into darkness.

Now into its seventh season, the medieval fantasy drama has inspired reams of analysis, theories, music compositions, fan fictions, cosplay inspirations— you name it. But to the geeky side of the global fandom, the universe created by George RR Martin has given plenty of numbers to crunch in the hiatus between two seasons.

Let's take a look at how the show looks from numerical lenses -

7 - Number of episodes in latest season

Showrunners DB Weiss and David Benioff had announced in 2016 that the penultimate and last season of GoT will be shorter than the usual season run of 10 episodes. The upcoming season has seven episodes and last season will have six, taking the total number of the episodes of the show to 73.

8 - Number of countries the show has been filmed in

Northern Ireland, Croatia, Iceland, Morocco, Spain, Malta, Canada and the United States are the countries in which the shooting of GoT took place. Morocco and Iceland actually saw a rise in their tourism business after the visitors count made a jump of 40% in 2016 making it an important part of their economy.

11 - Number of characters from pilot episodes still alive

Game of Thrones is notorious for its heavy character death count. Fans have mourned far too many fictional demises with Hodor being the latest casualty. But there are 11 characters that have managed to escape the writer's axe. Jon Snow, Bran Stark, Sansa Stark, Arya Stark, Cersei Lannister, Jaime Lannister, Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, Ser Jorah Mormont, The Hound, and Theon Greyjoy are the lucky 11.

20 - Number of people set on fire for action sequence

The upcoming season will showcase numerous epic battles. Given the size of Dany's babies, it is obvious that they will burn down everything in their sight on the battlefield. This gave an opportunity to the action directors a chance to set a record in setting 20 people on fire at the same time for one shot. Some record to have in the collection!

38 - Number of Emmy Award wins

The show's popularity has found its way into award circle as well. Even though GoT is not eligible this year's Emmys, it will still keep their record of most wins intact.

71 - Number of nude scenes so far

Game of Thrones is known for is death counts, and it is equally known and criticised for the on-screen nudity. There have been two epic moments — first one was at the end of season one when the dragon eggs hatch and the second one in last season when the Dothraki council burns to death — both involving the Mother of Dragons in which Emilia Clarke had nothing but her birthday suit on. Then there were other scenes which really begged for discussions over what is excessive and exploiting HBO's lenient stance on such scenes.

73 - Number of fire burns used

We have seen what Drogon is capable of doing to protect his mother. Trailer of season seven has given us a glimpse of other two dragons, Viserion and Rhaegal, taking flight off the coast of Dragonstone. So to show the combined might of the creatures, showrunners used 73 burns which is again a record.

81 - Number of minutes in runtime of season 7 finale

Showrunners Weiss and Benioff had revealed that 67th episode of the show will be the longest of the series so far. 81 minutes of intense storytelling is the gift fans totally deserve for the extra waiting period they had to deal with because the season premiere was moved to July from the usual April release.

110 - Number of Emmy Award nominations

With 6 seasons, Game of Thrones already has half the Emmy nominations accumulated by Saturday Night Live's over 42. Its three-digit haul is miles ahead of the other contenders in Drama category.

173 - Number of countries the show will be broadcast in at the same time

The massive simulcast became a necessity for HBO after the show became the most pirated shows ever. The episodes leaks were also one of the main concerns since HBO Nordic accidentally aired the episodes before the official release in 2015 and again in 2016. People from 173 countries will be able to catch the latest episodes at the same time they air in the US.

553 - Number of cast members

Creating a universe is not a small feat, but a bigger task is to contain it. George RR Martin let it loose in the books with the massive number of characters and story arcs associated with them. Even though folks at HBO have been generous in keeping the purse strings loose, there is only so much you can include in the TV adaptation of the fantasy drama. 553 is a massive number in itself and it does not include extras. Wait until you read about the actual number of characters in the books.

747 - Number of the iconic Boeing plane to which the size of Dany's dragons is compared

Drogon, Viserion and Rhaegal are the creations of CGI/VFX technology. But for fans to get an idea of just how big these dragons are, creators announced that the each of the full-grown dragons is the size of a Boeing 747.

1243 - Number of characters killed so far

RIP the ones we loved, whose deaths we did not expect to punch our guts with sudden shock. May even devil never care for you, Joffrey Baratheon and Ramsay Bolton.

2103 - Number of characters in the books

Now go up and read the number of cast members to try to grasp the effort writers of the show put in to keep the storylines crisp.

150,966 - Number of onscreen deaths so far

YouTube channel Leon Andrew Razon Compilations stitched together the show’s on-screen deaths and attempted to count them all. The tally comes just above 150,000. That's all.

350,000 - Number of active piracy torrents at peak of the show

GoT holds the crown of most pirated show five years running. During the peak of the season in 2016, at any given point, 350,000 torrents were shared across the globe. The number is not likely to go down this year.
