2018 Gymnastics World Cup: Aruna Budda Reddy creates history, clinches bronze in women's vault

Aruna Budda Reddy made history as she bagged a bronze medal in Vault at the ongoing Gymnastics World Cup in Melbourne. She scored an average of 13.649  for two vaults. India's Pranati Nayak finished 6th with an average of 13.416. 

Tjasa Kysslef of Slovenia won the gold medal in the event with a score of 13.8 while Australia's Emily Whitehead secured the silver with 13.699.   

The 2018 Gymnastics World Cup is currently being held in Melbourne. Sixteen countries are featuring in the event this year across two days of qualification with the top eight teams athletes on each apparatus heading to the finals, which will be held on February 24 and 25.

Rakesh Patra finished fourth in the men's rings event.

On Friday, Ashish Kumar, Rakesh Kumar Patra and Aruna Budda Reddy qualified for the finals in their respective categories.

While Ashish qualified in sixth place for the Vault Finals, Rakesh and Aruna qualified for the Parallel Bars finals and Floor Finals respectively on Friday night.
