Neymar was roasted by social media on Tuesday for his performance during Brazil's match against Costa Rica on Friday. Neymar did score a goal for his side as they beat Costa Rica 2-0 but his peformance was far from perfect.

Neymar led the Brazil attack and tried hard to create a breakthorugh. However, he was handled well by the Costa Rica defense. The marking saw the Brazil star being tackled again and again.

Neymar had almost earned a penalty for his side when he fell in the box late in the second half. However, the VAR replay showed that there was no dangerous challenger and Costa Rica were given a reprieve.

No single player has been fouled more in a World Cup match since Alan Shearer against Tunisia in France 1998. In that game the former Newcastle United hitman was fouled 11 times.

Many on social media also made fun of Neymar for 'falling' too mauch.
