Shahid Afridi flies to Dubai to raise funds for Pak flood victims

A Dubai-based humanitarian organisation has invited Afridi to raise funds, that will be spent on the rehabilitation of flood victims.

Swashbuckling Pakistan all rounder Shahid Afridi has flown to Dubai to raise funds for the victims of the devastating floods that have affected over four million people in country’s north western region.

 A Dubai-based humanitarian organisation has invited Afridi to raise funds, that will be spent on the rehabilitation of flood victims.

Talking to reporters before boarding a flight for Dubai, Afridi expressed hope of raising 10 to 20 million rupees for the affected people.

“I want to help those peoples who are seriously affected by the floods,” The Daily Times quoted Afridi, as saying.

“If I get time I will personally visit the affected areas and distribute things among people,” he added.

The United Nations (UN) has described the flash floods as a “major catastrophe” that has killed nearly 1600 people.
