As the star-studded Indian cricket team struggles to stem the rot against a rampaging English side in the third Test at Birmingham, another bunch of Indian cricketers are dishing it out to their counterparts from Australia down under.

In the Emerging Players tournament in Australia, Saurabh Tiwary, Ajinkya Rahane and Ashok Menaria (all three who have made handy contributions to their IPL teams this season) scored centuries, as India look good to register a comprehensive innings victory over the Australian Institute of Sports in the concluding three-day encounter of the Emerging Players Meet at Endeavour Park, Townsville, Australia.

After dismissing AIS for 205 in the first innings, almost all the Indian top-order Indian batsmen made substantial contributions as the visitors scored 534, gaining an overall lead of 329 runs. AIS in their second essay were 93 for two, still 236 runs required to avoid innings defeat.

After the two overnight batsmen Rahane (100) and Menaria (112) reached their individual milestones Tiwary took over, sending the AIS bowlers on a leather hunt, plundering 151 runs from 148 balls with the help of 14 boundaries and seven sixes.

Another in-form batsman, Manoj Tiwary, also smashed a quickfire 59 with the help of four boundaries and five sixes.

Manish Pandey, who hasn't been in good form, also joined the party scoring 66 off 50 balls with the help of two fours and half dozen sixes. The worst sufferer was Australian Test discard Micahel Beet who gave away 115 runs in his 14-over spell.

Brief Scores: AIS 205 & 93/2 in 33 overs (Ryan Carters 56 batting, Glenn Maxwell 25 batting, Jaidev Unadkat 1/5).

India 534 in 109.5 overs (Saurabh Tiwary 151, Ashok Menaria 112, Ajinkya Rahane 100, Manish Pandey 66, Manoj Tiwary 59).
