The event comprised of five categories -- Professional, National, Amateur and Corporate, Green Ride and Children.

Participants hoped their performance would enable them to participate in the 12-day sporting extravaganza of the Commonwealth Games.

"I want the authorities to see my performance and allow me to participate in the Games. I want to do something for my country. My coach is training me," said Sachin Kumar, who stood first in the national event category.

India is expecting about two million tourists in New Delhi for the Games, as well as about 10,000 athletes from 71 teams representing 54 Commonwealth member states.
