Fast bowler Pat Cummins appears to have established his reputation in international cricket with his six-wicket haul for 79 runs in the second Test against South Africa being played in the “Bull Ring” in Johannesburg.

A debutant, Cummins  has probably given Australia a sniff of an improbable victory and hope for squaring the two-Test rubber, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

Cummins, 18, is the second youngest man in history to take six wickets in an innings, behind Bangladesh's Enamul Haque junior. He is also the youngest Australian to take five wickets in an international innings.

Previously, he had not taken five even in interstate cricket.

Cummins admitted afterwards that he was pinching himself. On this tour, he has graduated from a project to a plan.

Set 310 to win, which is unprecedented on this ground, Australia now needs 168 runs with seven wickets in hand.
