Why Roger Binny may lose his job due to son Stuart's presence in Indian cricket team?

Stuart Binny's presence in the Indian team might not be such a good thing for his father Roger as he is believed to get tangled in the 'conflict of interest' issue, reports an English daily.

Recently elected BCCI president Shashank Manohar had come up with a 28-point suggestion list dealing with the problematic issue of ‘conflict of interest’, a scandal that has engulfed Indian cricket in recent times. A sub-section of the list of suggestions, to be discussed at the board's Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mumbai on November 9, deals with the national selectors, who are not supposed to have 'financial or business interests' with any of the players and this is the very reason why Binny senior might have to vacate his post.

Roger was appointed as a selector from South Zone in September 2012, and still has one year remaining on his contract. "I believe he should step down from his post. His work as national selector has been impeccable but with Stuart part of the Indian team, the 'conflict of interest' issue might come up in different quarters," a senior BCCI official said.

"The board is planning to implement the points suggested by Manohar into its constitution and if and when it is done, Roger's position may directly be in conflict. The rest of the selectors still have one more year on their term and may be asked to continue," the official added.
