Parvez Rasool in the line of fire.
Updated : Sep 30, 2017, 11:36 AM IST
Playing for the Indian team after almost two-and-a-half years, Parvez Rasool must have thought of having a great outing for the Men in Blue but instead he got slammed on social media platforms for a particular act of callousness.
While the national anthems of India and England were being played before the start of the first T20 in Kanpur on Thursday, the Kashmiri off-spinner was seen chewing a gum and the Twitterati lost their cool. Many thought it was a disrespect to the national anthems and he shouldn't have kept munching his gum.

The only possible reason behind Parvez Rasool chewing a gum could be to relieve himself of the ear pain caused by India's national anthem.

DISAPPOINTED to see Parvez Rasool standing at ease & chewing gum during national anthem. Can wear India jersey, can't sing anthem? #INDvENG

Seems like that chewing gum is more important for Parvez Rasool than our national anthem.

What a shame to see Parvez Rasool refuse to sing National Anthem in Kanpur.Chewing gum instead.Doesn't deserve the national cap.@war_echo?

Height of disrespect-- Parvez Rasool not singing national anthem and shamelessly chewing gum in keeping with kashmiris' spirit #IndvsEng

The Problem is not with Parvez Rasool alone, but the hatred by Kashmiri Muslims against Hindu & India. Born & Taught to disrespect India.

Parvez Rasool is donning IND jersey, putting his full efforts & standing during national anthem are several positive things to be seen..
