As you can see, not everyone is mourning Watson's retirement. Many do not rate him highly especially in Test cricket. There is no doubt he was a very flawed player and often developed fleet of clay while facing genuinely good fast bowling, even in ODIs. Here's an embarrassing video:
Nevertheless he remains a major force in ODI cricket, capable of destroying mediocre bowling in a trice. He has also been a serviceable bowler throughout his career.
