Tennis ace Andy Murray credits 'clean living' for Grand Slam success

Andy Murray, who reached his 17th consecutive Grand Slam quarter-final at the French Open, has credited "clean living" as the key to his success.

The 27-year-old British No1, who made it 14 wins on the trot and 23 consecutive victories over French players against Jeremy Chardy at Roland Garros, said that he doesn't stay out late, takes proper rest and eats well, The Mirror has reported.

Murray, who beat Chardy 6-4 3-6 6-3 6-2, insisted that being professional required a full 24-hour effort.

The world No. 3's streak at all four Slams ahs put him fourth in the all-time list and only Federer (36), Jimmy Connors (27) and Novak Djokovic (24) have done better than him in the Open era.

The tennis ace, who's wife Kim was also present to witness his feat, said that he was proud of this achievement, but unfortunately was playing against people who overshadow some things he had done as they were really good.

Murray will take on No 7 seed David Ferrer on Wednesday.
