Sourav Ganguly gave Yuvraj Singh, his one-time blue-eyed boy, a big pat on the back by declaring that the southpaw is likely to take the No 6 spot in the Test side. “It’s going to be a tough choice. There are three very good players vying for that one spot. Yuvraj, (Suresh) Raina and (Manoj) Tiwary are all good batsmen and it’s upto the selectors. But I think Yuvi will get the nod,” the former India skipper said on Friday.
So does he think Yuvraj is ready for five-day cricket. “Physically, yes. He just scored a double hundred in the Duleep Trophy and a fifty against England. He even got a five-wicket haul. His bowling gives him that edge,” Dada said at a promotional event also attended by England skipper Alastair Cook and off-spinner Graeme Swann.
Ganguly said England have a major advantage over many teams touring India because they have a quality spin attack.
