Lionel Messi drops shocker saying doesn't know where he will be next year hinting at Barca exit

Argentina football team talisman and captain Lionel Messi surprised everyone on Monday when he shyly said that he did not know where he would be next year, hinting at a move away from Barcelona.

Messi said that he was not sure what is going to happen when asked during a press conference ahead of the Ballon D'Or Player of the Year ceremony if he wanted to finish his career at Barca or at Argentina's Newell's Old Boys in his hometown of Rosario.

Messi said that he is not sure what's going to happen, whether he would go to Newell's, adding that he doesn't know where he would be next year although he has always said that he wants to end his career at Barca but claimed that nobody knows what the future holds, Stuff.co.nz reported.

Messi had said on Sunday that he had denied asking for coach Luis Enrique to be replaced or that he is seeking an exit from his boyhood club.

The Argentine claimed that he has not asked for anything to stay there because he has never wanted to go anywhere else.
