The cricketing world might be applauding Kumar Sangakkara but the cricket's dad is not very impressed with his son's career. Like a typical desi parent, he wrote: “I have always been his harshest critic. And he knows about it all too well. For the world, Kumar was this venerated technician. But in my opinion, he never reached that level. He could have done so much better with the skills he had." He added: “Everybody speaks about his average being in the same league of Graeme Pollock and Garry Sobers, but Kumar could have done better. He too often let bowlers dismiss him rather than them having to get him out.”
Twitter, the irreverent as it is, obviously could let this incident pass by without mention:
Yeah, he did all that, but what is the point if you held the bat with both hands all along? #KumarsDad

Because obviously, two hands is too easy!

Mandela obviously messed up.
If #KumarsDad had been #Bradmansdad 'he really struggled against the short stuff.Don't get me wrong..he wasn't bad. But didn't even avg 100'

#Kumarsdad just came to know that Jadeja has more triple hundreds than his son in FC cricket. Kumar's just been denied entry to his own home

Sir Jadeja had to step in.
Jesus may have walked on water, but had he taken all my advice, and knuckled down, he could have walked on steam. #kumarsdad

Sanga was good but did he ever score under pressure? I never saw him score runs while being waterboarded #KumarsDad
