Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) prepare for life without their captain Virat Kohli who is nursing a shoulder injury. In a press conference ahead of the 10th edition of Indian Premier league (IPl) which is going to start on April 5, RCB's head coach, Daniel Vettori revealed that South African talisman AB de Villiers is going to lead the last year's finalists in the absence of the Indian skipper.

Kohli is expected to join the RCB squad on April 2 but BCCI doctors are going to monitor his recovery progress over the course of the subsequent few days, reported Sportskeeda.

“He will come in on April 2. Between now and then, the BCCI doctors and physio will speak to us and our medical staff will get a clearer picture. Right now, we don’t have a clear picture on his availability. We’ll know in the next few days. The likely scenario is that AB de Villiers will take over the duties, but we’ll answer that once we find out if Virat is out," Vettori said.

Kohli had said after the fourth Test against Australia in Dharamsala that he will take a few weeks to get 100% fit. The maverick batsman suffered a shoulder injury while fielding during the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Ranchi and couldn't take part in the decider which India won and bagged the series 2-1.
