BCCI chief Dalmiya's grandson arrested for assault against traffic cops in Kolkata

Aditya and Zakir got into an altercation with the cops and the former threatened the officials flaunting his links and contacts.

BCCI chief Jagmohan Dalmiya's grandson Aditya was arrested for assault and threats issued to traffic cops in Kolkata on Wednesday, post which he was produced before a Juvenile Justice Board.

Aditya, who is a Class 10 student, on his way home after a football practice session, got into an altercation with the cops when driver Zakir Hossain violated a traffic rule near Kalikapur on EM Bypass. Hossain, who has been sent to Judicial custody, had initially parked the vehicle in a no-parking zone which led to intervention by Traffic Police Sergeant Sujoy Pramanik and Sub-inspector Amlan Bhattacharya, reports India Today.

Aditya and Zakir got into an altercation with the cops and the former threatened the officials flaunting his links and contacts.

An FIR was also lodged against Aditya and Zakir at the Garfa police station. Also, a counter FIR was lodged by Baishali, daughter of the BCCI chief, against the policemen for attacking the driver.
