YU launches the YUPIX portable smartphone printer

YU has launched a new accessory for it's smartphone series, the YUPIX portable printer. It's a polaroid-style smart printer that you can pair with your phone for instant digital prints.

The YUPIX is ultra-portable, weighing just 273g with the battery and cartridge, and just slightly bigger than your average smartphone, and has WiFi/NFC capability, to improve your picture transfer speeds by 10x. Just connect your smartphone and you can print out 2.1x3.4 inch photos in under 60 seconds, with an image quality score of 175. The YUPIX has a 750mAh battery that, seeing it's only purpose is to print photos, should last you a full day of intermittent printing.

The cartridge also uses new Dye Sublimation technology, which has the ribbon and photo paper integrated into it. The cartridge, available for Rs 649, holds ink as well as 20 print sheets. The YUPIX prints photos at 291dpi and at a max resolution of 1920x1280. The output print is also fingerprint and water-proof. You can download the app for both Android and iOS smartphones and use it to sync your smartphone and get to printing. The YUPIX is available from today,September 7, on Amazon India for Rs 6,999.
