Xiaomi launches their latest and greatest smartphone, and it’s quite the beast

Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi has just unveiled their latest flagship, the Mi 5, at a global launch event broadcasted on YouTube directly from the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The Mi 5 has been one of the most anticipated smartphones at MWC 2016, and it introduces several technologies that are a first for the brand.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 will be available in three different variants:
The phones will be priced at 2,699 RMB (approx. Rs 28,303), 2,299 RMB (approx Rs 24,126) and 1,999 RMB (approx Rs 20,981) respectively.
The key features of this 5.15-inch device include the first commercial availability of Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 820 processor, a newer type of flash (UFS) storage, CAT12 LTE support (upto 600Mbps downloads,) a front fingerprint sensor, 3000mAH battery, a 16MP main camera with 4-axis optical stabilization and a DTI sensor, a 4MP front camera, full function NFC, Quick Charge 3.0.
The phone will be launched in China on 1 March, with India availability expected shortly thereafter.
