Pokemon Go is already bigger than Tinder, in just one day!

Pokemon Go needs no introduction. Less than a week since it was launched in the US, Australia and New Zealand, the game was installed on more Android devices in the US compared to dating app Tinder. 

According to SimilarWeb, on July 8, only 2 days after the app’s release, it was already installed on 5.16 percent of all Android devices in the US. If that doesn’t seem like much, consider that by July 7, Pokemon GO was already installed on more US Android phones than Tinder.

Additionally, over 60 percent of those who have downloaded the app in the US are using it daily, meaning around 3 percent of the entire US Android population are users of the app.

As of July 8, the app was being used for an average of 43 minutes, 23 seconds a day, higher than Whatsapp, Instagram, Snapchat, and Messenger.

Users around the world have been trying to download Pokémon GO using an apk, bypassing the official app store. APKs are a way to bypass Google Play Store and download apps onto your smartphone. In the case of Pokemon Go, it lets players get around geographical restrictions, but if you download the wrong file, you can be in for a world of hurt as there are many fake versions that can hack your Android device.
