On Mother’s Day, May 6, Facebook is offering a small token to mothers in a few markets.  The company is testing out a new flower reaction button for some users, as pointed out by Twitter user Sreedev Sharma.

While Facebook recently changed the Like button to permanently support a few new possible reactions to a post, this is  the first time the company is introducing a temporary reaction. Seeing as Facebook has already previously offered various profile picture themes, we can be sure this test is not for the feasibility of the temporary reaction, but more for what kind of reactions can be introduced in certain regions.

Facebook, in a statement to the press, confirmed it  was testing the flower reaction, but didn’t specify which markets it was introduced in, although the US is not one of them. And The Verge reports that while the reaction won’t be available after Mother’s Day, the notification will still appear underneath posts it was added to.
