Gaming seems to be the order of business now with Acer making a significant showing at the IFA Electronics show, announcing a smartphone, projector and a number of other devices.

Acer CEO Jason Chen launched the company's new gaming smartphone, the Predator 6, as well as the Predator Projector. He boasted that the smartphone "will dominate any game you throw at it." The Predator 6 packs an unspecified deca-core MediaTek processor, 4GB RAM and a  21MP rear cam. It runs on Android, has four front-facing speakers, dual haptic feedback rumblers and a 6-inch display (most likely 1080p, but possibly a higher resolution) and accented with some kick-ass black and red stylings on the back. The Predator 6 will launch in Asia first, and then expand to other markets, but no price point has been released yet.

Then there's also the Predator 8 GT-810, a gaming focused tablet from Acer. It packs an Intel Atom x7 processor, 8-inch (1920x1200) display with Predator Quadio, four front-facing speakers for virtual surround sound, just like on the Predator 6. There's also the Predator TacSense dual haptic feedback motors reappearing, and 2x2 MIMO wireless capability. The Predator 8 comes with 64GB internal storage, expandable up to 128GB. The Acer Predator 8 GT-810 will be available in North America for US $299.99 (approximately Rs 19,800) exclusively at Newegg for 2 weeks beginning on Nov. 6. After that it will be available at other retailers nationwide. It will be available in Europe, Middle East, and Africa in October, and in China with prices starting at ¥2499 (approximately Rs 26,000).

Another very cool development, coming out with the Predator 17 and Predator 15 gaming notebooks is the all new FrostCore. This is a swappable, third cooling fan, that Acer says can take your machine temperarture down another 5 percent. The best part? With their laptops that supports this module, you swap it with your optical drive on the fly.

And last, but not least, the Predator Projector. A bit of a mouthful, but still a cool device nonetheless. With 50cm of space from a wall, this laser projector can give you a 120-inch screen to solve all your lan party needs. And it also gives you a 6 x 16 ultra-wide display.
