Police book docs involved in Mayflower-Sunflower row

The crime branch officials on Friday arrested four doctors who were involved in the Mayflower and Sunflower hospital dispute. The arrested include Dr Yogendra Jhala, Dr RG Patel, Dr DG Patel and Dr Raman Patel.

A source in the crime branch said that the arrests were made on the basis of cross complaints lodged by Dr DG Patel and Dr RG Patel against Dr Jhala and vice versa.

Earlier, on April 30, partners of Mayflower and Sunflower hospital clashed with each other over construction of a wall between the two hospitals. The source said that Jhala entered the hospital premises and had an altercation with DG Patel and RG Patel. It is also alleged that Jhala fired shots from his revolver to terrorise the hospital staff at Sunflower. However, the police have not found any cartridges from the spot. The pistol has been sent to FSL for test.  Dr Jhala, however, had a different story to tell. He said he got a call from the staff at his hospital, complaining that men from the Sunflower hospital were harassing them. 

“I came to the spot straight from the gym,” Dr Jhala said. “I did not use my revolver. I am being falsely implicated.” He said that he has handed over his revolver to the police for forensic examination.
