TN sets up panel to select films for govt subsidy

The Tamil Nadu government on Tuesday appointed a committee headed by Justice Pon. Baskaran to select "quality" low-budget Tamil films released in 2007 and 2008 to receive Government subsidy.
   
According to an official press release, the committee, whose members include actors Vagai Chandrasekar and Saroja Thangavelu, Director SA Chandrasekar and secretary of Tamil Development among others, will recommend deserving and "quality" low budget Tamil films for government subsidy.
  
The Committe was formed on the directions of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, the release said.
