Grumbling while going to school is quite a common syndrome with the children. But if the school’s name is Manchester United Soccer School, everyone dies to be there on time. This high-profile school, located at the Carrington Training Centre, is perhaps the only school where kids love to go.

Established in 1992, the idea behind setting up such a school was to get kids of various age groups and make them understand what it means to be a part of the Manchester United Football Club. Gavin Rhodes, Director of Coaching of Manchester United Soccer Schools (MUSS) World-wide, says that the institute reflects the commitment of MUFC towards youth development.

With a legacy of their own, the school uses the glorious moments of the stars of the yesteryears to inspire the budding footballers. “We have more than 15000-20000 children a year from around the world,” says a proud Rhodes.

“It is an experience that we want them to gain, not many kids around the world can think of coming to Manchester to train,” Rhodes went on. Whether they can play good football is secondary, the aim is to provide them with an opportunity.

With its wings spread in countries like Malaysia, Dubai, Australia, Canada, Singapore and many other places, it’s coming to India is only a matter of time.

In fact last year they trained some kids from Goa during a six-day residential course.
