The Royal Challengers, who surprised everybody by beating defending champions Royals in their IPL opener, could not replicate that success on Thursday.
Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Anil Kumble reckoned winning the toss would have been an advantage but felt it was actually lack of partnerships which did his team in against Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League here on Thursday.
The Royal Challengers, who surprised everybody by beating defending champions Royals in their IPL opener, could not replicate that success on Thursday and were shot out for 105.
In reply, Rajasthan Royals knocked off the required runs for the loss of three wickets inside 15 overs to amble to a seven-wicket win.
"It would have been nice to win the toss and bowl first," Kumble said after the match.
"We lost too many wickets and didn't have the partnerships going," the former India skipper rued.
The defeat snapped Royal Challengers' three-match winning streak but Kumble hoped they would pick up the pieces.
"The tournament is not over yet. Hopefully we will come back with a better performance," he said.
His Royals counterpart Shane Warne said they are starting to get the momentum and hoped to carry on in the same vein.
"We have executed our plans well. We are starting to get the momentum," said the leg-spin legend.
Warne praised the IPL for giving lot of youngsters chance to shine.
On Thursday, pacer Amit Singh and spinner Ravinder Jadeja shared seven wickets between them while Naman Ojha laid the foundation for the run chase with 52.
"The good thing about the IPL is that Indians, South Africans, Australians are all mixing together and everybody is learning," the Rajasthan Royals skipper said.
He conceded that they had a slow start but was happy that they were picking up.
Amit, who took four Bangalore wickets for 19 runs, and was adjudged Man of the Match, said the wicket was good for pace bowling.
"It was a nice track to bowl. The pace and bounce was good," said the 27-year-old.
