Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd has launched Nexret, an anti-acne formulation, in the Indian market. This marks the company’s foray into the tropical anti-acne segment, a commonly diagnosed condition by dermatologists.

Nexret has been made from a proprietary non-porous microsphere technology, which minimises irritation associated with drugs like Tretinoin and provides controlled delivery of drug to the skin.

The new drug would be available in the gel form in a pack size of 15 grams, the company said.  The domestic anti-acne market is estimated to be at about Rs 130 crore and growing at 14%.
