In a suspected case of 'honour killing', a young wrestler and his wife were kidnapped and murdered in the national capital allegedly by her uncle who was unhappy with the girl's decision to marry out of caste.

Two-year-old Vaishali, who is the sister of the married girl, was also killed along with the couple identified as Praveen Kumar, the wrestler, and Vibha who went missing
since April nine.

Police suspect that the couple might have been killed after abducting them from accused uncle Amrik Singh's residence in Mongolpuri on April nine where the couple had
gone on invitation.

Singh (38) and two others, including a 28-year-old woman, were arrested from Mussorie in connection with the murders, deputy commissioner of police (outer) Atul Katiyar said.

The two other arrested were identified as Sandeep Kumar (26) and Preeti Kalra (28) who were promised plots of land allegedly by Singh to commit the crime. He said the bodies of the couple and the girl were found in Ghaziabad by UP Police sometime back and a post mortem was conducted.

"We identified from the photos of the bodies that it was the same trio who went missing," he said.

The uncle was allegedly nursing a grudge against Vibha who married Praveen Kumar, the wrestler, against her family's wishes as he had been facing taunts from villagers about the girl marrying out of the caste, Katiyar said.

Singh was also suspected to be eyeing the property in the name of the girl's father, who is no more. He had on April nine invited Vibha, along with Praveen and her two-year-old sister Vaishali for a family function at their house in Mongolpuri. They did not return for two days after which Praveen's family lodged a complaint.

Singh and his accomplices allegedly drugged the family and kidnapped them, police said adding investigators have recovered arms from where the trio were arrested in Mussourie. Praveen had first made headlines in 2001 for his ability to take in milk through his nose and squirt it out of his eyes.
