Chelsea coach Guus Hiddink now targetting a treble gong

Chelsea coach Guss Hiddink has targeted a treble, which he admits was unthinkable when he took over as  manager in February.

Qualification for next season’s Champions League was the priority when he succeeded Brazilian Luiz Felipe Scolari, but Hiddink has been forced to rethink his aims.

And with Chelsea in the final of the FA Cup, the semi-finals of the Champions League and still in the Premier League title race, he is ruling nothing out.

“Mathematically, the treble is possible. In February, we had to make sure we qualified for next year’s Champions League but you can’t just be satisfied with that," the Daily Express quoted Hiddink, as saying.

“Everybody has done what is expected of them, so you push your targets higher and we are doing that. If you had told us in February we would be playing the FA Cup final, people would have raised their eyebrows. But, for the moment, the most important game is tonight,” he added.

Chelsea have won 10 of Hididnk’s 13 games in charge and the Dutchman claims his team are relishing the challenge of trying to catch Manchester United and Liverpool.
