Was Saddam Hussein a fan of the American animated satire series 'South Park' which portrayed him as the gay lover of Satan?

If the US Marines who gifted the creators of the series an autographed photo of the former Iraqi dictator are to be believed, then yes.

Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators of 'South Park', were given a photo of Saddam Hussein, autographed by the Iraqi leader himself. Hussein was shown the film based on the series, by US marines while he was still in prison, reported Telegraph online.

Stone said that both he and Parker were most proud of the autographed Saddam photo, given to them by the US Army's 4th Infantry Division.

"We're very proud of our signed Saddam picture and what it means. Its one of our biggest highlights," said the satirist.

Hussein who was executed in 2006 was shown the film, 'South Park: Bigger, Longer And Uncut' by US Marines while he was in captivity.

The Iraqi leader was a formidable figure in international politics but was lampooned as Satan's selfish and mean gay lover in the film and the series.

The report comes at a time when the show is about to celebrate its 12th anniversary later this year. The show gained popularity for its crude humour spoofing some of the biggest names in politics and entertainment.

Recent episodes have seen Barack Obama as a jewel thief who uses his Presidential win to steal jewels from Washington in an Oceans 11-style heist and rapper Kanye West being heckled as a 'gay fish'.
