Supermodel Gisele Bundchen's armed security guards opened fired at the paparazzi, who were trying to get the photographs of her second wedding to American football star Tom Brady.

The couple, who married last month in Santa Monica, exchanged the wedding vows for the second time at Bundchen's Costa Rican home on Saturday.

Bundchen and Brady have sold the rights to a Brazilian magazine and didn't want other photographers to get the pictures as it would have spoiled the deal, the New York Post reported.

Aviles and his colleague were trying to take the photograph's from a neighbour's house about 300 feet away from the ceremony when the incident happened.

The freelance photographer said that the front and rear windows of his SUV vehicle were broken in the firing.

"Thank God I'm alright. At that moment I thought I was going to die. I said, 'They're going to kill us' and that's when I hunched down to cover myself. When the glass broke, that's when my friend started driving really fast," photographer Rolando Aviles said.
