‘I represent the common people’

Balkrishna Shukla, BJP candidate explains why Vadodara should elect him.

I come from a middle class family and have endured a lot of hardship. I am a common man myself, which is why people have no hesitation in coming to me with their problems. I graduated from MS University with a BSc in geology. I also have a masters degree in performing arts (MPA).

If I am elected MP, I will concentrate on improving the infrastructure of Vadodara city and other areas in the constituency. The city needs a complete revamp and I will try to get projects that will give the constituency a new look.

The Vishwamitri rejuvenation project has already been launched. It will go a long way towards improving life in the constituency. Development of tourism in the city and adjoining areas is also high on my agenda. Not only that, I will work to strengthen the facilities for education in the city by encouraging the setting up of more colleges and institutes.

I am confident I will win the elections by huge margin of votes. I am sure that voters from all castes and communities, including the minority community, will vote for me.

Some areas like Savli, which are traditionally pro-Congress, are inclined to vote for the
BJP this time. Support groups have sprouted spontaneously to campaign in my favour. My councillors, too, are working hard for me. I am confident I will win because of the team spirit of BJP workers and my supporters.

I still meet people at my 'footpath office’ near the market crossroads where I used to meet my friends many years back when I was still a student and not into active politics.
You will find me meeting people here during the election. I will be available at my ‘footpath office’ even after the polls when I have become an MP because of the support of the people.
