When Red Rooster Racing ventured into motor racing last year, it was one of the most ambitious moves in India. The team won the Indian National Rally Championship and National Road Racing Championship, and stood second in the Malaysian Super Series expert and novice class (for bikes). “It was a dream debut but we are here to win the big events,” said Dinesh Reddy, Managing Director of Red Rooster Racing.

The team has signed young sensation Armaan Ebrahim to race in the Formula 2 this year. “I am looking forward to racing with the team. They have had a fantastic year in 2008 and I hope to take their achievements to the next level with my performance. I am quite excited,” Armaan said.

The team features a four-member karting team aged between 11-17 years: Mohit Ahiju, Chirag Malhotra, M Venkatarayadu and Arjun Maini. They will take part in the JK Tyre Rotax Max National Championship 2009.

“The idea was to identify riders’ drivers and give them good equipment and backing. It is needless to say that in India there is enough talent in all spheres,” Reddy said. “We are serious about what we are doing.” Singapore-based Mezzo Racing team, headed by Andrew Moores, will provide technical support for the Malaysian Super Series in 2009.

Red Rooster Racing will launch a 15,000 sq ft performance engineering studio for cars and bikes. Based out of Bangalore, near ITPL, the Red Rooster Performance will cater to performance and cosmetic upgrades. “The project will support the initiative of RRR to promote motor sport,” Reddy said.

In 2009, RRR will take part in FIA Formula 2 Championship, Petronas FIM Asian GP, Formula BMW Pacific Series and Malaysian Super Series apart from the domestic events like Indian National Rally Championship, National Road Racing Championship and UCAL Rolon National Championship (for bikes).
