The Delhi High Court on Wednesday, raised a question on the conduct of Vikas Yadav, undergoing life imprisonment for killing Nitish Katara, of getting involved in Jessica Lall murder case when he was on bail.

"What about your conduct that you got involved in another case while you were out on bail?" a bench comprising justices B D Ahmed and PK Bhasin said while hearing a bail plea of Vikas Yadav, son of Uttar Pradesh politician DP Yadav, and his cousin Vishal.

The court was referring to Jessica Lall murder case in which Vikas was convicted for destruction of evidence and later sentenced to four-year jail term on December 20, 2006.

The counsel appearing for Vikas, howerver, alleged he was falsely implicated in the case and an appeal has been filed in the Supreme Court against his conviction in the case.

The bench, after hearing the contentions of all the parties, including Delhi and Uttar Pradesh governments which opposed the bail plea, reserved the order.

Vikas and his cousin Vishal, were sentenced to life imprisonment by a Delhi Court in June last year for killing Katara, an MBA graduate and son of an IAS officer, as they were against their sister Bharti's growing intimacy with him.

The duo had kidnapped Katara on the night of February 16, 2002, from a marriage party in Ghaziabad and killed him later.
