An unplanned picnic to Science City for the students of municipal school nos. 3, 5 and 13 left parents and students angry. Parents claim that the principals and teachers had also been unaware of the plan and had rushed the children when a bus arrived at the schools to pick them up.

“Our children did not have any clue of a picnic when they left for school in the morning. A bus suddenly arrived at the gate when classes were on. At such a time when incidents of kidnapping and rape are rampant, is it appropriate to take children in such a manner?
Who would have assumed responsibility if an accident had taken place?” said Ramvir Rathore, president of the parents' association.

He said there had been only one teacher on the bus, which would have been a problem in case of an accident. “When we reached school to enquire about the situation, everyone was gone except for a teacher, who informed us that the children would be back by 2 pm,” Rathore said.

However, principal of the school, Padma Panchal, said the children had been sent home to inform their families about the picnic.
