Stars delivered duds in House

Some of them can jump off a cliff and beat up 10 people at a time in ‘reel life’, but when it comes to performing in Parliament, their zest goes kaput. This was revealed in a study conducted by Centre for Policy Research.

The study, done to measure the performance of celebrities in the 14th Lok Sabha, has revealed that filmstars and cricketers rarely raised questions about problems in their constituency and hardly took part in debates.

Dharmendra was the worst performer. Govinda was no different. The only star who made her presence felt was Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Prada. Vinod Khanna and Raj Babbar, both veteran MPs, asked just five questions during the five-year term. Navjot Sidhu seemed impressive in comparison.
