California's governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has showered praise on president Barack Obama while introducing him during a town hall meeting at the Miguel Contreras Learning Complex 2009 in Los Angeles.

Schwarzenegger, 61, was very impressed with the Democratic commander in chief, and his feelings were revealed on March 18 on the Politico Web site.

"I think he's so smart," the New York Daily News quoted the Republican as saying.

"He's so clear with his thinking and he's so well-informed and has been dealing with policy in all this and is also very philosophic. I think he's just like - I think it's beautiful," he said.

The 'Terminator' star turned-politician further expressed his amazement at Obama's openness.

"I've never seen that," he said as he and wife, Maria Shriver, left the event.

"Usually people are so guarded. The aides are always so guarded. They're so afraid that you will blow it or that you will make news that's unintended and all those things," he added.
