Woman cuts off sleeping husband's penis after fight

In a fit of rage, a woman cut off her husband's penis while he was asleep at his home in the Amraiwadi area of the city, police said on Monday.

The incident occurred late last night. Kailashben Mackwana (23), who had had a fight with her husband Kanusinh (23) earlier in the day, sliced his manhood off with a knife, the police said.

Kanusinh, who lost a lot of blood, was admitted to the civil hospital where he was operated upon for over two hours.

According to doctors at the civil hospital, Kanusinh's condition is stable, but he has been kept under observation.

"For now we have done skin grafting in the affected area," Dr Gautam Sharma of the civil hospital said. "His penis has been cut, but there is no injury to the testicles.

"His recovery time could be between 15 and 20 days depending on how well his body responds to the treatment."

The police have arrested Kailashben, who told them that she and her husband had quarrelled over some mortgaged jewellery. Police are continuing their investigation.
