As the highly awaited Oscar ceremony plays out on our TV screens today, India is hopeful that it will at least bag one award. And the three munchkins of the movie — Latika (Rubina Quereshi, 8), Salim (Azharuddin Ismail, 10) and Jamaal (Ayush Khendekar, 10) have already planned what they will do if they win.

“I am quite sure that our movie will at least win one award. And if we do, Mera jo God hain na, Allah, usko mein chaddar chadaungi (I will offer a shawl of flowers to my lord, Allah),” says Rubina.

Ayush, who had messaged Danny Boyle telling him that he wants to attend the Oscar ceremony, is quite excited about sitting in an aeroplane for the very first time. “I am extremely excited. I will go to London first and then I will go to New York from there. If we win, I will want to spend about two months there celebrating my victory. And then I would want to meet Angelina Jolie and Kate Winslet... I really like them.”

Munching on biscuits at his Bhayander residence, he quickly adds, “And, if I get an opportunity to work in Hollywood, I would want to do that as well. Though I am open to working in any kind of movie, whether it is Bollywood, Hollywood, Tamil, Bhojpuri or any other.”

Azhar, though, seems a little weary with all the media attention he has been receiving lately. For him, his game of marbles is more important then giving interviews. But ask him questions about Salman Khan and he gets talking. “I love Salman Khan. And I want to become like him when I grow up,” beams Azhar. Then he adds, “I will definitely be happy if my movie wins the Oscar. I am looking forward to meeting Danny uncle again.” Jai ho, kids!
