In yet another hit-and-run incident in the city, two college students sustained injuries when their bike was hit by a Tavera car near Shyamal crossroads on Saturday morning.

Before hitting the students, the car had rammed into an Indica car. Indica driver Upendra Desai, a resident of Gokul Dham apartment near Vejalpur police chowki, has lodged a case with Satellite police in this connection.

Sources said the incident happened when Desai, who works as driver with Hardware Tools and Machinery Pvt Ltd, was going to his owner's house near Rajpath Club on Saturday morning. As soon as he reached near Shyamal crossroads, a Tavera coming from opposite direction hit his vehicle. The Travera after hitting the Indica collided head on with the motorcycle. Nisarg Shah (21) and Digvijay Chauhan (19) sustained injuries on their legs and hands respectively.
Soon after the accident, a large number of people assembled at the spot and the police were informed. In the meantime, the Travera car driver, Dharmendra Dhingra, managed to escape from the spot taking advantage of the prevailing commotion.

When contacted, senior PI at the Satellite police station, JJ Patel said, "We have registered a hit-and-run case in this connection as Travera driver Dharmendra Dhingra had escaped from the spot after the incident."

However, Dhingra later contacted the DNA and said he was very terrified after the incident and fled from the scene as a mob was rushing toward him. "After running away from the spot, I surrendered at Satellite police station," Dhingra said.
