After consulting with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the central government had decided to appoint a taskforce and offer subsidies to the diamond industry in Gujarat.
Leader of the opposition in the state assembly, Shaktisinh Gohil has said that the report on the problems of the diamond industry, dated February 12, produced by the information department was misleading.
After consulting with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the central government had decided to appoint a taskforce and offer subsidies to the diamond industry in Gujarat.
Gohil said chief minister Narendra Modi was attempting to take credit for this effort of the central government.
He further said that the “financial security of the industry is the responsibility of the state government, yet the Centre has put in the effort while the state government has not spent a single penny.”
