Now, Chintan Shibirs at district, taluka levels

Chintan Shibirs, which help in enhancing the administration through their collective strength, will be organised at the district and taluka levels, chief minister Narendra Modi said on the first day of the 5th annual Chintan Shibir.

State ministers, secretaries, department heads, municipal commissioners, collectors and district development officers participated in discussions on several issues that the state is facing, on Friday.

The chief minister laid stress on taking the policy initiative to the district- and taluka-levels and increasing the number of public-private partnerships at the taluka-level.

“The Shibirs help in optimum planning of manpower and use of resources. They also ensure the success of all programmes and drives,” he said, adding that the current Shibir will help the state’s 5.5 lakh ‘karmayogis’ provide the best administration possible for the development of the state.

In his speech, Modi focused on optimising the use of broadband internet connectivity in the state in order to provide the best education possible to children. He also made many suggestions for improvement in education in the state.

“Gujarat is a politically stable state and has the best environment and administration to fulfil the needs of the masses,” state chief secretary D Rajagopalan said. He said the foremost priority of the state was the human development index (HDI). “Effective execution of programmes is required and our role is to provide leadership at every level in order to sort out the gaps,” he said.

Secretary of administrative reforms, BB Swain gave the introductory speech at the beginning of the Chintan Shibir on Friday.
