Dog biting man is no news but man biting man makes a serious issue. Moreover, the topic becomes more interesting and important when a bootlegger bites a cop. In an incident in the city on Saturday night, a bootlegger bit a cop as the later tried to catch him.
Sources said the incident occurred on Saturday night in Kagdiwad area near Tagore hall under the Ellisbridge police station, when a bootlegger, Akbar Ali, while trying to escape from police’s clutches, bit a constable, Yunus Ali.

According to the sources, on Saturday night the Ellisbridge police got information that a bootlegger, Akbar Ali alias Kalu Saiyed, was to pass through Kagdiwad area. A police team, comprising constables Arif, Bharat Sinh, Narendra Sinh and Yunus Ali, waited for Akbar. But no sooner Akbar saw the policemen, he tried to escape. However, Yunus ran and caught hold of Akbar’s Activa bike. In a desperate bid to escape, Akbar allegedly bit Yunus on his left hand. However, by then, cops Narendra Sinh and Bharat Sinh caught hold of Akbar. They, then, beat up Akbar. 

A large number of people assembled at the spot after knowing about the incident. The bitten cop, Yunus, was later taken to VS Hospital where he was given first aid before being discharged. 
Sources said Akbar was notorious in the area and several cases under the Prohibition Act were pending against him.
