What do you do when you have won 10 Grand Slam titles and are on the verge of claiming two more? Simple, you have a relaxing dinner, chill out to the hilt and do everything except thinking about the matches.

Mahesh Bhupathi appeared a relaxed man on Thursday. And why won’t he? A little earlier on the day, along with Bahamian partner Mark Knowles, Bhupathi had reached Australian Open men’s doubles final beating Lukasz Kubot and Oliver Marach 6-3 6-1.
If the third seeds manage to pull it off against Bob and Mike Bryan, this would be their first title at the Melbourne Park. That’s not all. The iconic tennis ace has also made it to the mixed doubles semifinals with Sania Mirza. The Indians will battle it out on Friday for a place in the final against Czech duo Iveta Benesova and Lukas Dlouhy.

“I am not even thinking about Friday’s match right now,” Bhuapthi told DNA over the phone from Melbourne. “I just want to have a relaxing night and we will cross the bridge when we come to it…”

On reaching a Grand Slam title round for the first time since forming a partnership with Knowles, Bhupathi said: “We both have a wonderful understanding of each other’s game. Since coming together for the last two years, we have been through a lot of ups and downs… Right now we have hit a sweet spot.” Bhupathi refused to speculate whether he would have liked to get Leander & Co. in the final. Earlier on Thursday, fourth seeds Leander Paes and Lukas Dlouhy lost 3-6 3-6 to the second-seeded Bryans in the semifinals.

“It’s no use speculating who we would have liked to face… We have a job to do… And since we are aware of the Bryan brothers’ game, I am hopeful…”  The 10-time Grand Slam winner isn’t willing to think too far ahead. “It’s tough to say whether I see Nos.11 & 12 coming at Melbourne… All I can say is that I will try…”
