Dope-tainted Pakistani fast bowler Mohammed Asif’s hearing was completed by the Indian Premier League (IPL) Drug Tribunal at the BCCI Centre on Saturday. The final decision is yet to be taken.

The three-member panel, comprising former cricket captain Sunil Gavaskar, ex-Vice Chancellor of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Dr Ravi Bapat and leading legal expert Shirish Gupte, heard the testimony from a host of witnesses and also Asif’s lawyer Shahid Karim’s representation.

The Tribunal has reserved its verdict in the interim and would now meet again soon to take a final decision in the matter.

“No decision has been taken on him and the tribunal will meet again,” said Gupte, who chaired the meeting. The Tribunal, which held its verdict, would announce the decision soon, a media release said.
