Jammu and Kashmir Deputy chief minister Tara Chand has warned that the state government would not tolerate red tapism in the administration. "The officials must dispose of speedily the public interest cases pending in various departments and government will not tolerate red-tape in the administration at any level," he told officers after paying a surprise visit to various government offices, including that of district development commissioners, in Kathua and Samba yesterday. Chand inspected the Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issuing unit in Kathua and enquired about the cases pending there. He also enquired about the modus operandi of disposing cases under the Roshni scheme and asked the District Development Commissioner (DDC) to streamline the unit and submit him details of cases under the PRC and Roshni scheme. Chand also visited the district hospital in Kathua and inspected the DDC office at Samba, which is being constructed at Rs 9.4 Crore.
