Omar among 11 'political heir' to enter J-K assembly

JAMMU: Carrying forward the legacy of their families, chief minister-designate Omar Abdullah is among 11 political heir to enter the Jammu and Kashmir assembly.     

"Five MLA's of the National Conference have political background followed by four of PDP and two of Congress, who have made to Jammu and Kashmir assembly," election department officials said.
    
The 38-year-old Omar is son of five times chief minister Farooq Abdullah and grand son of former CM Sheikh Abdullah.
    
Interestingly, Omar and Farooq will be sharing the bench in the assembly this time.
    
The PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, who is the daughter of former CM Mufti Sayeed, will be entering the assembly for the third time. Earlier, she had been elected in 1996 and 2002.
    
Like her bete-noire Omar, Mehbooba too will sit with her father Mufti Sayeed in the assembly.
    
Another MLA, Irfan Shah, is son of former NC leader Gulam Mohiudeen Shah, who was a former minister and four time MLA.
    
NC's young turk Sajjad Kitchloo, son of a former minister Bashir Ahmed Kitchoo, has been elected from Kishtwar assembly seat for the second time. He won the 2002 elections after his father's death.
    
Main Altaf, elected from Kagan assembly seat, is son of powerful Gujjar leader and six time MLA Main Bashir.
    
Daughter of former speaker Wali Mohd Itoo, Sakina Itoo made it to assembly for the second time. She was a minister in 1996.

Among PDP MLA's, Javed Mustafa Mir is son of slain minister Gulam Mustafa Mir. Zulfikar Ali is son of five time MLA Mohmmad Hussain.
     
Similarly, Sartj Madani is brother-in-law of Mufti Sayeed and is entering the assembly for the second time.
    
Congress MLA Aijaz Ahmed Khan's father, is a veteran Gujjar leader Haji Bulan Khan.
    
Similarly, Sham Sharma, who has been elected from the Akhnoor seat, is brother of MP Madan Lal Sharma.
