Journo attacked by police, Puducherry union wants PCI intervention

PUDUCHERRY: Puducherry Journalists Union has sent a fax to the chairman of the Press Council of India (PCI) justice GN Ray  regarding the attack on pressmen in Punducherry by police at the court on Friday.

A spokesman of the Union said that they met the chief minister V Vaithilingam on Saturday. He said that the union had sought the intervention PCI and protection for journalists in Puducherry.

Three photographers were attacked by policemen causing injuries to them during a protest by policemen during an agitation in the premises of the court seeking to grant bail to a subinspector arrested by CBI in a bribery case on Friday.
